We needed someone to:
– help with language in case midwives cannot speak english
– support us making right decisions during birth (We heard that in hospital interventions are done too lighthearted)
– mentally support through birth
Doula Miina exceeded all our expectations. She helped with all the things we expected plus she was always ready to help us when we had questions. She made us to trust that birth will go through well. She helped us to prepare for the birth right way She was able to tell what happens in the hospital during birth through her experiences.
She created trusting and calming atmosphere. She helped a lot with all decisions. I was happy how she made me feel calm and she was able to help with all decisions. Maybe she could have suggested more relaxation techniques from the birthplan.
It was really nice to see extra time in the hospital, when she came for an extra visit. Afterwards we had the home visit: It was nice to go through the birth experience together and hear about it from her perspective. Unexpected massage felt really good!
